Lara: Online/Skype Piano Teacher
Our online/Skype piano teacher, Lara, offers classical piano lessons for ages 5 and above, from beginner to intermediate levels. This piano teacher has a Master of Music degree and a wealth of experience both teaching and performing on piano. She has been teaching piano lessons since 2006. Lara enjoys appearing as a soloist at local events, performing baroque, classical, romantic, and modern piano pieces. She also plays in a chamber music context, and as a member of a Chino-Lebanese band, performs hybrid music experimentation. As an accompanist, Lara has worked with viola and cello, performing classical and local pop songs. This piano teacher is also a musicologist who has published papers in Paris and Lebanon and has worked as a music critic. Lara is currently preparing a Ph.D. on teaching piano using technology. This teacher's vast experience includes a variety of age levels and different cultures. After fourteen years of teaching, she knows a wide range of strategies she can utilize to reach every student effectively. This piano teacher believes that mistakes are our friends, and we should feel safe with them to grow. She incorporates technology into lessons without throwing away the important attributes of traditional teaching, and aims to foster independent learners who find that learning music is as natural as learning how to walk and talk.
